Discuss the Graphic Design Styles and Techniques of Propaganda and Persuasion used by the Nazi Government 1933-1939 â€Å"Nothing is easier than leading the people on a leash. I just hold up a dazzling campaign poster and they jump through it.† (Goebbels, 1934). By the time Adolf Hitler became Chancellor of Germany in 1933, he already understood the power that propaganda could have on the masses; so quickly hired Joseph Goebbels as Reich Minister of Propaganda to control the news, media and art in Germany. Propaganda then grew to become a very strong and powerful tool for the Nazi party up to and throughout the Second World War under Goebbels power. Propaganda is the use of, usually, biased or misleading information within design, media, news†¦show more content†¦The large sections of flat colour across the athlete’s shirt and body suggest the use of woodblock printing, relating back to the traditional Japanese style; that, and the use of the very traditional Fraktur font, restrains the poster from looking too modern or un-German. He has also positioned the athlete’s limbs to reflect a similar shape to a swastika, which is emphasised by her black shorts and the flag behind her. This shows how the Nazi party had a strong power over everything that the public saw, even to the subtle shapes created with a form. â€Å"Goebbels believed that if Hitler was to give speeches, the people should be able to hear him† (History Learning Site, 2013) so made sure radios were sold as cheaply as possible and public places such as cafes and shops were ordered to broadcast Hitler’s speeches so his voice and message could reach as many people as possible, making it nearly impossible to not hear him. Because of how cheaply wireless radios, or the ‘People’s Receiver’ as they were called, were sold for, between 1933 and 1939 the number of radio sets sold in Germany quadrupled. Ethical/Legal Model The issue of assisted suicide places the advanced practice nurse in a precarious ethical and legal position. While the goal of the nurse is to provide care for the patient and to provide appropriate and safe responses to patient requests, assisted suicide is quite the dilemma in regards to a request to perform acts considered illegal with criminal implications and forfeiture of licensure at stake. Regardless of the nurse’s personal opinion regarding the issue of assisted suicide, whether for or against, the nurse must also consider the legal and ethical ramifications of actions taken. The individual patient that the advanced practice nurse is working with is not the place to implement personal feelings and potential challenges to existing laws. In these two stories you see both women being stereotyped. Christa Kilvington being stereotyped for being on government well fare. I can see why people would use that stereotype on her. The two are very different after reading the story I see Christa more on the side of hardworking and dedicated. The major factor affecting Carol is her race. The fact that she’s Asian is the biggest reason people perceive her as someone else. The people who meet Christa organize the information they are given into two different groups. People out in public see her as the single mom that is on government welfare, from that they assume that she is a worthless, lazy woman who is coasting on government funds. People who meet Christa around college see her as the exceptional student. It would be interesting to see what her classmates would say if they knew about her being on welfare and if people out in public knew that she is a 4.0 student. People who meet Carol organize her into one category. People who meet carol confuse her with other women because the general stereotype is that all Asians look alike. The cultural views are big in theses two stories. Generally in our, or American culture, we don’t usually see 4.0 students on government welfare, we’re just not used to seeing that combination of traits from somebody. We also see in our culture that we mix up Asian people with each other. I don’t believe it’s because we are racist I think it’s that we are not raised around a lot of Asians usually so its kind of hard for us to distinguish between them sometimes. To minimize the perception problems people could use perception checking. â€Å"Perception checking is a tool for helping you understand others accurately instead of assuming that your first interpretation is correct. In the chart below you can see how marijuana (cannabis) is compared to many other drugs such as, cigarettes, heroine, cocaine, alcohol, and even caffeine, which to me caffeine is not a drug but it is addictive. Just take a look and see that marijuana is way lower than most other drugs. Some say that marijuana is a gateway drug, well I have honestly tried marijuana and I have smoked it, I am now three years clean.
